Ministers hope the projects that the cash helps can capture and store 20-30 million tonnes of carbon dioxide every year by 2030
Tory Boy has no idea of the apocalyptic dangers of massive leaks of concentrated carbon dioxide gas so I’ve run the numbers and published them here to advise that we must stop such ignorant and reckless politicians in government from funding Big Oil’s exceptionally dangerous carbon capture and storage scam. Stop them now before they kill a lot of people!
So 20 million tonnes of carbon dioxide is enough to kill 30% of the world’s population instantly but since there would be no-one left unaffected there would be no intensive care so everyone else could possibly die too.
But 70 million tonnes of concentrated CO2 is enough to kill 100% of the world’s population instantly!
Please note that leaks from CO2 storage-bombs present a far more deadly health and safety risk to populations than climate change itself.
Humanity would be much safer doing nothing at all about climate change meantime than proceeding now with such extremely reckless carbon dioxide storage plans.
These plans are now so far advanced that they present a clear and present danger to the public that I deeply regret as a supporter of democracy and in every other circumstance a sceptic and opponent of judicial or military dicatorship that in the particular circumstance of the extreme danger of foolish elected politicians going ahead with carbon dioxide storage it is now preferable to suffer a temporary suspension of the authority of elected government in order to impose judicial or martial law just to stop the very foolish civilian politicians in parliament from going ahead with this.
I am so sorry that we have come to this Rubicon but Tory Boy has left me with no better option.
My best scientific advice is that the courts and / or the military should move now to arrest Rishi Sunak, Jeremy Hunt or any other future His Majesty’s Government which is intent on proceeding with this deadly, leaky carbon dioxide storage-bomb scam.

Two Norwegian carbon capture projects – used by the Scottish Government to justify its support of the controversial technology – reportedly faced problems which could have caused carbon dioxide (CO2) to leak. …
But recent analysis of expert research on the two projects by the global think tank, the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), found that both projects had seen unexpected storage behaviour “that could have led to leakage”.
Rather than being lauded as “pioneers” of CCS as they have been by the Scottish Government, Sleipner and Snohvit’s issues should actually “call into question the long-term technical and financial viability” of storing carbon underground, the IEEFA report argues.
