Independent Investigation and Report into Community Energy Scotland
by Scottish Scientist, 16th December 2023

Prompted by: @Scot_Scientist being blocked by @CES_Tweet on X, formerly Twitter

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

Community Energy Scotland is grossly mismanaged and as a charity it refuses to engage justly with particularly knowledgeable members of the community in Scotland – scientists, engineers and experts in the transition to renewable energy, such as myself. Such mismanagement is impeding the charity from making significant or speedy progress with its declared aims.

RECOMMENDATION:

In the first instance the Board of Community Energy Scotland should meet to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer appointed on the basis of a solemn promise to engage openly and justly with all the relevant members of the community, not blocking any of them on X/Twitter or otherwise excluding them and to desist forthwith with CES’s management’s extant ridiculous bunker mentality. If the Board cannot or will not remedy the mismanagement failures then CES’s charitable status and funding should be reviewed by the Scottish Government.

EVIDENCE:

2 of Scottish Scientist Blog Posts are cited herein as evidence to demonstrate that engagement with Scottish Scientist would be expected from any charity with the declared aims of Community Energy Scotland.
